A collaborative partnership
Representatives of the Australian Institute of Horticulture (AIH) and the Landscape Industry Association of Singapore (LIAS), met recently in Singapore to acknowledge and outline a collaborative and mutually supportive relationship with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Both parties have various skills, assets, and resources, and the purpose of this MOU is to collaborate through training, workshops, and webinars. The objectives are to support anyone entering, or advancing, their career in horticulture in Australia and Singapore, and to support and promote the growth and development of Australia’s and Singapore’s garden and horticultural industry, including youth, community involvement, and community gardening.
There is a lot to be gained from both organisations, from both an individual perspective as well as an industry perspective. The promotion and advancement of horticulture as a career can only have a positive outcome.
This is not the first signing of a MOU for AIH in Singapore; AIH has had a long-standing professional relationship with Singapore’s National Parks Board (NParks) and endorses their Certified Practising Horticulture (CPH) Program.
AIH President, Alan Burnell, and Immediate Past President Michael Casey, were thrilled to collaborate with LIAS President Goh Eng Lam and First Vice President Jeverss Choo for this auspicious occasion, and they look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Singapore for years to come.
