Growing Our Garden Inspiration

The Australian Garden Council (AGC) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Garden Society of Japan at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo.

This Memorandum of Understanding brings together both the venerable gardening culture in Japan, which is thousands of years old, with the young, growing gardening community in Australia that is blended with a 50,000-year-old living culture.

Together, this historic union will lead to increased garden participation, exchange of information, and, in time, to avail opportunities for horticultural and garden graduate scholars as well as young qualified personnel between the two countries, to increase knowledge transfer and elevate skills of all participants.

Present at the signing representing Australia was Australian Garden Council Chair Graham Ross AM VMM, and founding director John Mason. Representing the Garden Society of Japan was Yasuo Takahashi, Chairman, and Masao

Sone, Chair and International Activity Committee member.

The Australian Garden Council looks forward to growing their relationship with the Garden Society of Japan. More information can be found about The Garden Society of Japan on their Facebook page, Instagram and their website. Their blog also has some wonderful articles and opportunities to learn more about gardening in Japan.
