Hort Innovation Statistics 2022/2023

February saw the release of the Australian Horticulture Statistics Handbook 2022/23. This annual compilation of statistics reflects the general health of Australian horticulture. From 2013 the horticulture industry has grown substantially overall but the industry growth has flattened out over the last couple of years.

Nursery production, excluding cut flowers and turf, was valued at $2777.5 million was slightly down on previous years.

Nursery exports increased substantially over the last couple of years more than doubling. The last financial year saw and increase of 63% according to Hort Innovation statistics. Saudi Arabia accounted for 53% of total nursery exports.

The statistics show however, the horticulture nursery industry imports substantially more than it exports.
